Take this opportunity to certify Class C drivers transporting hazardous materials for agricultural use.
Do your employees haul placardable quantities of hazardous materials in performance of an agricultural operation? If so, please refer to California Vehicle Code (CVC) Section 12804.2 to determine eligibility for a driver license HazMat endorsement exemption. If your employee/hauler meets the requirements set forth in CVC Section 12804.2, register your employee for this course which is in compliance with United States Code of Federal Regulation (CFR), Title 49, Part 172.
Drivers attending the course will be tested and complete required forms. Drivers then submit
application, forms and training certificate to California Highway Patrol to obtain a Hazardous Ag Materials (HAM) Certificate. The HAM Certificate is then submitted with Medical Certificate to California Department of Motor Vehicles with applicable fees. Certification is required within 90 days of hire and every 3 years recurring for Class C drivers that stay within 50 miles of their operation.
